Jack Litherland

May was my dad's oldest sister. She was born in Small Heath, Birmingham England on 28 May 1904. The following year, the family moved to Grey County, Ontario. In 1929, she married Jack Litherland. I am not sure what year they moved to England but she did return to Canada. In her latter years, she lived with her mother who predeceased her by only a month. May died 17 June 1967. She is buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Owen Sound.

Harold B Iles

My dad, known to most by the name Bob was known during the Second World War as "Stubb". He served with the Perth Regiment based out of Stratford,  Ontario. He enlisted on 29 September 1939. He served in Canada, England, Italy and the Netherlands. I am very fortunate to have the scrapbooks that he put together with his ensignia, pay book, certificates and photos. He worked as a cook and a butcher, but he also must have done some work in the medical corps. He also has photos in the album from different Perth Regiment Reunions.

Toronto Cemetery, Demuin, Somme, France

Toronto Cemetery in Demuin, Somme France is the location of burials from the First World War. Named for the Toronto Regiment (Canadian 3rd Battalion) in August 1918, Canadians who lost their life in service to their country are buried there.
